Carving a Drake Pintail from start to finish.

The process of carving a hollow wooden decoy was filmed over the course of a day and put together as a 4 1/2 minute video for the TV program produced by New York DEC – my employer at the time.  I would have to say it ranks right up there among my best work days in my 33-year career at DEC.

Although I put a quick “gunner” paint job on the preening Drake, I later removed the paint you see in the film and re=painted as a decorative for my Dad’s 80th birthday.
